I've had the pleasure of showing off the sights and sounds of several cities in my role as a professional tour guide, but Montreal has a quality that sets it apart from the others. Located in the middle of French Canada, this city exudes an appealing combination of European history and contemporary metropolitan life. Mount Royal is the most recognisable symbol of Montreal's green areas, which offer a welcome relief from the city's hectic pace. Mount Royal Park was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the same landscape architect responsible for New York's Central Park. Tourists and locals alike flock to this natural area since it's ideal for a variety of outdoor activities.
